This is an observational watercolour painting of my view at Riomaggiore train station in Cinque Terre, Italy.

After being on a train for around two hours and not really seeing much, I remember stepping out and suddenly being met with this view — the sea stretching out into the horizon, cliffs rising up on either side, and this bright turquoise water below.

It felt like such a shift in atmosphere the moment I arrived. I was so taken by it that I had to paint it straight away, just to try and hold onto that feeling of arriving somewhere and being met with something so beautiful.
